Pricing
How pricing works
We don't post prices, since a damp house and a dry room aren't the same job. Here's what decides the number, and when you get it.
What decides the price
The number of rooms, the type of unit, how far the outdoor unit sits from the indoor one, the electrical work and where the water drains.
Rooms and unit type
Line-set length
Electrical and drain route
What the written scope includes, and what it doesn't
The rooms, the units by model, what each one does, the permit where the parish requires one, and removal of packaging. It leaves out repairs to the house itself, such as roof or wall moisture.
Units named by model
Permit, where required
How long the scope holds
What happens at the visit
We read humidity and temperature in your rooms, look for the source and talk it through. We tell you the visit fee when you book, and say whether it counts toward the work.
Readings in the rooms you name
Fee told before we come
When you get the number
In writing, after the visit and before any work is booked. It's a fixed scope, not time and materials.
In writing
Before work is booked
If the job changes
If we find something new once the work starts, we stop, tell you what it is and agree any change in writing before we go on.
Stop and tell you first
Agreed in writing
Equipment and materials
We choose and supply the units, line sets and drain parts, and name them in the scope. You choose where each unit goes.

The written scope
What a written scope looks like.
Lines of work, not a lump sum.
You get a page for each room: what we measured, the unit we propose and why, and what it won't do. Beneath it sits the work for the whole job, and the number.
On the page
Readings by room, with the hours they were taken
Each unit by model, and what it does in the room
Where the drain goes and where the outdoor unit sits
Electrical work and any permit

Questions about quotes
Why don't you post prices?
A one-room unit and a four-room job aren't comparable, and the cost depends on the drain, the electrical and the line set. We'd rather read your house than guess.
Is the visit fee credited toward the work?
We tell you when you book whether it is. If it is, it comes off the scope's total.
Can I get a second opinion on your scope?
Yes. The scope lists the readings, the unit and the work, so another firm can compare.
Ready for a number?
It starts with a visit and ends with a written scope.
