Questions we hear before the visit

If yours isn't here, call or send it with the form.

How long does a mini-split last?

Many run well past ten years when the filters and coils are kept clean. The outdoor unit's exposure and how it's maintained matter most.

Do I need a permit?

Often, for a new outdoor unit or new electrical. Where the parish requires one, we pull it and tell you before work starts.

Can a mini-split heat my room too?

Most modern ones are heat pumps and do. We say which kind we're proposing.

How often should I clean the filter?

Follow the maker's schedule. In a humid climate, look at it monthly in the cooling season.

Do air purifiers and UV lights fix a damp house?

No. The EPA doesn't certify air cleaners, and filtering the air doesn't remove moisture. Measure first.

What about mold I can already see?

We don't test for or remove mold. We fix the moisture so it doesn't come back, and suggest a mold professional for what's there.

What does the humidity visit cost?

We tell you the fee when you book, before anyone comes out, and say whether it counts toward the work.

Do you work on ducted central air?

We look at it, since it's often part of the problem. For repair or replacement we'll tell you if another firm is a better fit.

Can I get a second opinion on your scope?

Yes. The scope lists the readings, the unit and the work, so another firm can compare.

Still wondering?

Send us the rooms and the hours. We'll say whether a visit makes sense.
